Second Sight Systems is seeking a highly motivated Tower Training & Safety, Field Supervisor to join our Technical Services team.  This position is will require a willingness to uphold and teach the ethos of individual responsibility in maintaining team safety, while helping to build a positive culture that exemplifies the respect for the person philosophy of Second Sight Systems. This is one of the most critical and trusted positions in our team as you will be the first person to work with our new hires, and will be responsible for preparing them to operate safely in difficult field situations. As the Tower Training & Safety, Field Supervisor you will be responsible for: Managing SSS’s Tower Safety and Training program, Conducting Comtrain, Authorized & Competent Climber/Rescuer certification training, Comtrain, Competent Rigger Certification Training Certification training, Capstan Hoist Operator Training, Site Safety RF Awareness training. Tracking all employee certifications. The position also requires proficiency in: Construction Management, as well the installation, troubleshooting, and enhancement of VHF/UHF/SHF, TCP/IP, IEEE 802.11, Cellular, AMI Backhaul and Industrial Wireless networks

 

Responsibilities

Supporting the Second Sight Systems Tech Services team in conducting RF path studies for coverage and capacity including: network verification, installation planning, site identification, and RF interference/spectrum analysis.  Provides construction management support and technical knowledge for telecom construction activities including planning, installing, testing, and maintaining communications networks. Will aid in answering technical questions as well as day-to-day operational questions from both internal and external customers. Must maintain current working knowledge of a broad range of tower, cable, antenna & RF systems principles.

 

Specific duties include the following:

  • Represent & Promote the Second Sight Systems brand.
  • Travel to meet with customers and provide technical tower support
  • Tower site walks and installation recommendations
  • Providing pre-and-post sales technical support for tower and RF systems
  • Provide estimates for wireless/SCADA/AMI Backhaul projects.
  • Supervise installation team activities, develop budgets & deployment plans, configure radio systems infrastructure.
  • Manage and document construction projects relating to network installations and Tower Services
  • Provide maintenance support and troubleshooting for client-site networks.
  • Other duties as directed

Required:

  • Minimum 5 Years experience in Tower Services
  • Competent Climber Rescuer Certification
  • Competent Rigger Certification
  • Constructions Management Experience
  • Capstan Hoist Operator
  • RF Site Safety Awareness
  • Crane Spotter & Signal Person
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Capstan Hoist Operator
  • Able to travel 90% of time and as required to meet project/sales demands.
  • Capable of safely ascending 600’+ carrying all required safety gear and 20+ lbs of equipment.

Activities:

Requirements:

  • Technical sales experience in the utility and/or telecom markets
  • A developed network of existing relationships with utility contacts across portions of Texas and surrounding regions
  • Proficiency using spreadsheets such as MS Excel or Google sheets
  • Previous experience using a CRM such as Salesforce or HubSpot
  • Strong technical skills and comfortable working in a technical environment
  • Familiarity with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) technologies and deployment

Second Sight Systems is seeking a RF / Networking Engineer to join our team. This position will be responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, optimization and enhancement of wireless industrial networks. Typical applications are wireless SCADA systems and Machine-to-Machine communications installed within utilities and industrial networks. Responsibilities include system evaluation for coverage and capacity including RF path analysis, initial system design and dimensioning, coverage planning, site identification, frequency planning, interference analysis and optimization. Provides technical sales support and engineering knowledge for communications activities including planning, designing, developing, testing, installing and maintaining communications networks. Will answer technical questions as well as day-to-day operational questions from both internal and external customers.

Specific duties include the following:

Conducting complex network system administration and design engineering activities to maximize network connectivity and capacity Forecasting network / equipment needs and recommending appropriate configurations Planning, ordering, programming and deploying network radios and components Forecasting network / equipment needs and recommending appropriate configurations Providing technical leadership and expertise to less experienced customers and engineers Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for client-site networks Performing cost justification studies

Second Sight Systems is seeking to add to our team of Field Technicians and Tower Climbers.  Second Sight Systems provides services to wireless network operations, including civil, electrical, tower construction / inspection / maintenance, technical support, and electrical construction, maintenance and design.  

This position consists of field work related to communication tower services and requires candidates to become certified for tower climbing.  Candidates must possess a strong mechanical aptitude and physical mobility for climbing towers ranging in height from 100 – 500 feet.  

Candidates must possess the flexibility to travel throughout the region with the willingness to accommodate overnight stays in order to service our customers across the country and in remote locations.  

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical capabilities
  • Experience with wireless communications systems  (not required but preferred)

Location: Barnhart, MO with frequent travel 

Job responsibilities:

Work in various communication sites, installing connectors on coax, pulling coax, testing, installing grounding and power wiring, install communication equipment, work with fiber, cat5/6 cables, coax, DC/AC wiring and communication wiring. Testing communication lines, grounded equipment, and site survey work determining future installation of new communication sites. Includes using custom software platforms to take readings and document surveys for various customers, such as Utilities, Government / Military and other industrial wireless types of customers. Travel to and from various customer sites mainly in Missouri and Illinois, however occasional travel to possibly all 50 states and other countries are possible. Clean driving record, pass random drug testing, with the ability to drive company vehicles safely and responsibly, use and care of company test equipment.

  • Crews typically work an area from Monday-Friday at various communication sites.

Physical requirements:

  • Working outside and inside communication facilities, doing communication ground work and supporting tower crews from the ground. Physical requirements, ability to work outdoors extended hours if required, lift 50-100 pounds, up and down ladders, etc.

Location: Home-based w/ weekly travel required throughout Missouri & Illinois

Second Sight Systems provides meter services and support to the electric and gas utility market.  The scope of work for this position is to be a Meter Technician to conduct Electric and Gas installation audits.  This candidate will provide periodic supervision and verification of work performance and customer program requirements, including safety awareness.  No prior auditing experience is required and company will provide all necessary training, however candidates must possess a strong, disciplined work ethic with the ability to operate in a remote, unsupervised environment.       

This position requires a great deal of drive-time therefore candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Comfortable with producing automated reports and necessary paperwork
  • Strong PC skills

Second Sight Systems provides meter services and support to the electric and water utility market.  Second Sight Systems is seeking to grow our team of Electric and Water Meter Installers and add to our operational field team. The main focus of the job will be installing and exchanging meters in residential, commercial and industrial premises.

Main Area of Responsibilities for Installers:

  • Install and exchange of electric / water meters in varying properties
  • Work to exceed production and performance targets
  • Adhere to our health and safety procedures, quality & industry standards and codes of practice
  • Deliver excellent customer service

Candidates must possess a current driver’s license and clean driving record.  Candidates must  also possess the flexibility to travel throughout the region with the wiliness to accommodate overnight stays on occasion to enable us to meet increasing demand.

Second Sight Systems provides technical services and support to the electric and gas utility market.  Second Sight Systems is seeking to grow our team of Radio Frequency (RF) Technicians. The main focus of the job will be to act as a Communication Technician to help maintain a metering network for utilities.  The scope of work includes providing Tier 1 RF field engineering support for RF problem resolution, on site Tier 1 RF field engineering support.  This is a home office-based position however it will require field work for documenting metering network issues.  Company will provide basic RF communication specialized training along with all necessary hand tools and a company vehicle.  

No prior RF technical experience is required and company will provide all necessary training, however candidates must possess a strong, disciplined work ethic with the ability to operate in a remote, unsupervised environment.

Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
